At Concierge Cardiology, Dr. Hua frequently sees patients seeking a second opinion on their heart condition.
A second or even third opinion can be helpful if:
- You’re not comfortable that your diagnosis matches your symptoms
- Your condition is not improving or is worsening despite treatment
- You’re concerned that your treatment may not be the best available
- Your doctor is not taking your concerns seriously
- Your doctor resists referrals to other specialists
- Your calls or questions are always referred to a lower-level provider
- Your doctor seems unfamiliar with newer treatments
- Your doctor dismisses concerns about medication side effects
Your second opinion at Concierge Cardiology: what to expect
We request that you provide our office with all available medical records, including lab results, imaging, medication history and discharge reports.
Dr. Hua will then:
- Prepare a detailed written second opinion report
- Discuss your concerns in detail prior to beginning her assessment
- Perform a comprehensive review of your medical history to date
- Call or videoconference with you to discuss your final report in detail and answer all your questions
After you receive your second opinion
Your second opinion report is confidential. We will never forward it to anyone unless you authorize it.
After you receive your report and discuss it with Dr. Hua, your options include:
- Obtaining any additional diagnostic labs or imaging recommended to help clarify your diagnosis
- Have us forward your report to your physician & discuss the findings with them
